Actually when I read only what you quoted I was horrified at myself - I though, heck that's not bad English, why so critical? Then I realised you didn't quote the original source, just my quote.

It doesn't take much time to learn that 'da' is not an English word and there's already a suitable word in the language which is 'the' - it's lazy substitution, there are no excuses. That was a bit of a rant and this is a great thread/app so if I need to be criticised further for my criticism please do it via PM, not this thread.
