The Modern Pneumatic Airgun Book

I have just had a reply from Howard Buckley. He sent me the flier and order form for his book.

I have pasted it below, I hope it works in HTML as I received it as a Word Doc. If anyone wants the order form I can email it to you.

'The Modern Pneumatic Airgun' by H.M. Buckley I ran across the subject title today and wonder if one of you gents had contact information on this that you could provide. An Amazon Book with Buzz: 'The Other Woman' The most twisty, addictive and gripping debut thriller you'll read this year.

Thanks Jon The Modern Pneumatic Airgun A practical step by step guide to building your own Howard Mark Buckley Dear Airgun Shooter, We would like to offer you the opportunity to purchase a signed, first edition copy of The Modern Pneumatic Airgun direct from the publisher at £30.00 plus £4.50 to cover postage and packing. (£9.50 to Aus/ NZ and USA). The book is directly concerned with the design, manufacture, testing and use of the modern pneumatic airgun. This to all those making the rifle to Howard Buckleys design, I have had a mail from him saying that he is still able to supply the book and is considering a second print run if needed. There is a problem with barrel supply in the UK, due to change in legislation and I am hoping to have some clarifacation on this soon, however.22 rim fire barrels from scrap rifles are OK for that claiber.

If any of you are having problems with either parts or machioning pllease mail me and I will do my best to help Good luck Peter. Building a match air rifle isnt just as simple as following a plan, the precharged that is covered in the forementioned book is a good start before trying anything more advanced, if you wish to make a regulator. With the failure rate the manufacturers experience it may be easier to try buying one as a replacement part. And will you really need one, some (few) people can tune an unregulated pre-charged to be as consistent as a regulated gun. For close range, 20 yds standing for example you can probably get the accuracy from normal consistency and a choked match barrel, lapped of course. There's also th nature of the parts and how they interact with one another, the air resivoir will expand and contract, so the barrel shouldnt clamp solid to the end for best accuracy, a shroud can fasten and be a good sliding fit, possibly with an o-ring added to allow the barrel to move in a length ways fashion, if going for a floating barrel then there's the ideal minimum thickness of around 16mm and more of it in the breach block, compared to a semi or non-floating barrel.

Minna no nihongo chukyu ebook download. One of these days I'd like to get round to making one too, hopefully there wont be a problem buying barrels by then though. My design was based on the Original/Dianna contra piston system the actual piston was fitted with a rack which meshed with a pinion and then another dummy piston which travelled in the opposite direction. In my first version one was mounted below the other so looking like an over/under shotgun, I then went on to do one with them in the same tube.

Cocking was by having a sleeve over the piston with a blank end which in turn had a barrel sized hole in it, to cock this was pulled back by a side lever and while back the pellet was loaded into the barrel end the lever pushed forward to push the sleeve forward and the piston was held by the trigger, on firing it went forward and the other backward. The design had a long stroke which gave plenty of power.

This was all a long time ago an I have no drawings left, I do remember that it was rather heavy and long with quite a lot of mechanical noise, however it shot well Peter. Sounds fairly promising for a pcp too. I've not had any luck trying to order a barrel blank through my ex employer (a manufacturer) with no reason given, told they dont think so-en-so wants to sell me one. Could just be worried that if they do I might intend to use some of my old boss's ideas. It was suggested by someone that trying to order a replacement barrel for another airgun which just happens to fit the specification would be cheaper and easier. So I'm currently trying elsewhere, I'll post back here.
