• 92 Answers SOURCE: Dear dennis_partr, In general all pressure washers have a control valve. This is sometimes refered to as the Spill Valve.

When the trigger is pulled, the spill valve is in normal position. When the trigger is released, the spill valve compresses to let water circulate from its bottom part. If when the trigger is pulled and the bottom part of the spill valve does not close, then water keeps on circulating and hence no pressure. In this case change the spill valve with a new one. Also there could be a fault in the sucktion valves. If the sucktion vaves do not close, also water keeps on circulating.

One also can examine the delivery valves. If these are not closing, then water is being sucked while delivering.

Hence no pressure. Another cause but very rare, is that the swash plate that is pushing the pistons got loose. The electric motor will be turning, but the pistons stay in the same position. I mentioned many causes, but usualy it is the spill valve. If with a new spill valve, there is still no pressure.then you must tackle the sucktion and then the delivery valves. I wish to add that I assume that you have the correct lance and correct nozzel size. A worn out nozzel, will result in low prssure too.

Strictly speaking, many small pressure washer repairs are uneconomical, because the labour time involved costs almost as much as the machine is worth. However, a 'motor won't go' problem does narrow things down a lot.

To state the obvious, we're looking at an electrical problem. The challenge is to find the cause!

Did the motor stop while you were using it, or did it fail to start when you got it out of storage? If you are in the UK you should first check the plug-top fuse and the full length of the flex for any damage.

If you have any kind of low-voltage electrical testing device, you can test for continuity between the live and neutral pins of the plug (with the machine switched on you should have continuity). If you have no continuity (and the fuse is OK) there may be a problem with the switch on the machine. Unfortunately, unless you are a really keen DIY person, there's not much you can do by way of self-help.

A repair centre may be able to help you, but beware of costs spiraling beyond the cost of a replacement machine. I hope this will be helpful - if you can give more details I'll help further if I can. Posted on Aug 16, 2009. Have the same p-washer (5-6 years old) and the same problem. Opened it and the pressure switch is the crook.

A plastic pin has an inner and an outer spring on it (two consentric springs). The smaller inner spring is completely rusted away so the switch no longer operates correctly. Splm 12 keygen crack. Obviously the spring was of a too low quality. The service office say a new switch cost around 400NOK (50 euros) - so the washer is too expensive to mend.

But I will try to get it working without the inner spring. Doubt if I succed. So will have to dump the washer. Mar 19, 2010 .
