1kz Te Cylinder Head Crack Finder

Remember, it doesn't matter how good the head is. If you go with a cheapy gasket, or do something stupid like reusing head bolts, or not fixing the cooling system, the head will fail. Just becaused a head fails, doesn't mean it is a bad quality head. The gasket was good quality (made in Japan), new bolts (btw. Toyota gives permission to use old ones, if they are thick enough), cooling system is at very good condition, no towing, no highway speeds, no immediately shut downs after long term driving.

I don´t understand why you say the head which is cracked after 4 months usage, is not bad quality head. I think it is crap, not quality at all (athough it looks fine). I know they can make a good quality product in China, if they want, or somebody demands. Reentrant reinforcing. But aftermarket parts are what ever happens to be. Some months ago I helped a friend of mine change over his 1kz-te head. Maybe there is hairline crack in some cylinder and leaks water in it. Toyota Hilux, Granvia, Hiace, Landcruiser, Regius, 1KZTe Complete Cylinder Head Kit, Cylinder Head, VRS Set, Head Gasket, Camshaft.

Now with 3BAR MAP sensor & 18PSI Boost!. Re: 1KZ Cracked Head Chinese heads can be ok but they still need to have the pre combustion chambers looked at as they never get the height rite on installtion it also wouldnt hurt to change them to stein brand as the chinese pre co chamber are not too good it also pays to get the valves re seated and a better skim on the head, and with gaskets use genuine Toyota head gaskets and always after replacing a head find out what caused the problem originally, to much boost? Check the cooling and fuel system and allways change coolant with genuine coolant ( as you can not get much better )and NO additives on the recomended intervals as well as the oil.

I have allways done the coolant change reguarly and NEVER had a problem with my vehicles over heating:wink. I've got a Prado 2002 with the 1KZTE and basically all the symptoms you guys have said is whats happening to mine. I bought mine with 310K on it and less that 6 months and only a couple of long trips it appears the head is cracked. Dont know if the previous owners have changed it or not as theres nothing in the service book about it. Anyway I'm changing mine over week after next.

I'm getting the AMC brand just like Theroo advised. Intel hd graphics core i5 driver windows 10 32 bits virtualbox. I spoke to the guys at SMS Diesel and they advise against the chinese made ones too. Its not a huge difference in cost with a complete head, gaskets, bolts etc for $1450 for the chinese one and about $1550 for the AMC one. Going to change the timing belt, water pump, tensioner and idler pully while I'm at it.
